Architrave
We also manufacture our own sets of oak architrave matching the four profiles of the skirting board.
Unless a double door opening is required, we supply sets of architrave allowing 2 legs and 1 head per set.
This set will be able to be mitred on site to produce one side of one door.
The legs will have a length of at least 2.2m and the head 1.1m totaling 5.5m per side of a door.
Should your requirements be a little different we can normally satisfy most peoples needs.
The other dimensions are 20mm thick and 70mm wide.
"Every door needs a surround, here it's explained..."
Oak Door Linings
Most doors we manufacture have a door lining.
These are made and supplied with six pieces of oak.
There are two vertical pieces made to measure by determining the width of the wall you need to line and another piece designed to fit at the head of the door opening.
Think of it as 'lining' the opening where you door would sit. The remaining three pieces are pinned separately to create a rebate into which the door will hang.
Architrave is then pinned onto the side of the lining completing the look.
Oak Door Casings
A door casing, encases the opening, as pictured right. The breeze block represents the internal wall and this eliminates the need for architrave.
These are supplied in three distinct pieces. The header is installed first and then each side fits underneath this.
Oak Door Frames
An oak door frame is normally supplied with an already machined rebate.
The size of the rebate is determined by the thickness of the door.
These are rarely supplied as all the ledged and braced doors do not have a uniformed thickness from top to bottom.
The dimensions change where the ledges are. To be precise, most of the door is 20mm thick except at the ledges where this is increased to 47mm.
Door frames are commonly supplied for more traditional doors and external doors.
